Cloud Tuner 1.2.1

I've just rolled out a minor update to Cloud Tuner for all!

A minor note: anyone using Cloud Tuner prior to 1.2.1 will be unable to sync with Dropbox after the 28th of June 2017.

Changelog:

  • Added a cancel action to the notification during a sync.
  • Updated to Dropbox v2 integration.
  • Minor bug fixes.

I've created my own personal site over at brendonp.me. I'll be using it as a home for some of my minor and personal projects and little demos that I work on. Basically, anything outside of Bluhex will be posted there. You can think of it like a longer version of my twitter.

With Christmas time almost here it's time for another major update to Cloud Tuner! Just like 1.1, 1.2's focus is on giving you more choices when it comes to syncing. Therefore, I'm please to announce that there's now support for artists, albums and genres. There's quite a few changes in this update so the full list is inside!

The first major update for Cloud Tuner is now live! With version 1.1 I've added support for Google Drive and OneDrive. There's also been a significant reduction in sync times, especially on larger libraries. Along with all that there's the usual various bug fixes and improvements you might expect.

I've got quite a few more major ideas that I would like to implement, but for the time being future updates will be focused on smaller features and quality of life updates, so stick around!

Hey everyone, I've just released an update to Cloud Tuner which adds support for iTunes Smart playlists. Like the other playlists, they're read only and are only updated when you use iTunes. The new version should be rolling out over the next day.

Next priority for Cloud Tuner is Google Drive and OneDrive support. No ETA on the release as of yet.

It's finally here! I'm happy to say that Cloud Tuner is now available on the Google Play Store!. For those who missed it, Cloud Tuner allows you to download your iTunes library to an Android device over an existing cloud storage service like Dropbox. I'm already working on additional support for services like Google Drive and OneDrive, but you'll have to wait a little longer for that.

This is my first foray into this type of app and I have to say that I really enjoyed building it. With all of its weird complexities that come with building a sync engine it was certainely a challenge and I haven't even gotten to some of the really hard features that I wanted to tacke yet. I'll save that discussion for another time though. For now, I'm ready to have a small break and start planning (hopefully) on both the next set of features for Cloud Tuner and other projects beyond.

Well, that's it for today. Hopefull you find Cloud Tuner to be a neat tool in bridging that gap between iTunes and Android.

Cloud Tuner - The next app

Cloud Tuner allows you to upload your iTunes library to Dropbox (or Google Drive / OneDriver soon) and download your iTunes playlists directly to your android device.

Unlike traditional cloud music services, there's no DRM, no device or download limits and your files are just as accessible offline as they are online. No more of Taylor Swift removing access to your music because she has a disagreement.

Refreshing the Bluhex Website

You may have noticed a few subtle changes in the design of the Bluhex website recently and for good reason. Beneath the surface, the site has been completely rebuilt to leverage some new web technologies allowing for us to do a plethora of new things such as user accounts, forums and a few other things. We haven't flipped the switch on any of these features yet, but over the coming weeks you should notice more frequent updates as we leverage our more powerful backend tools. Among the updates, you should start seeing some posts here from Ben and Jason from our Let's Plays over on YouTube.

For those more technically interested, we've moved from an in-house Laravel CMS over to the wonderful October with a handful of custom-made plugins. Additionally, we've moved over to Bootstrap framework for the markup of the site.

Rocket Climb 1.1 is out now!

Today we're happy to announce our first major update to Rocket Climb! We've added some of the most requested features by you guys and gals. So, what's new?

  • Leaderboard! We've added a leaderboard so you can compete and compare your score with your friends.
  • Remove the ads! As requested, we've added an option to remove ads from the app for a small fee.
  • High score and achievements synchronisation! Your achievement progress and high score is now synced across all your app installations.
  • Chinese locale support.

With this release we're moving our active focus from Rocket Climb onto our next project. So stick around, we're pretty excited to show you soon.

The road to Rocket Climb version 1.1.0

The last couple of weeks here at Bluhex have been exciting to say the least. We've launched Rocket Climb on iOS and Android, the Bluhex website, Rocket Climb's promo site and the first patch for Rocket Climb. We've been blown away by the response from you guys and your determination to reach the highest score you possibly can. Even though some of you, may still be trying to understand which way is up...

Now though, we're hard at work on our first major patch for Rocket Climb. At the top of the list is leaderboards! You've spoken and we've listened we'll be adding leaderboards that work across iOS and Android, so keep on practicing and prepare yourself! We're also adding an optional purchase to remove the adverts and give you some more screen space. We've yet to confirm a price, but once we know, you'll know. Finally, for some of our international followers we'll be introducing support for Chinese. If you've got a language you want to see Rocket Climb translated to, please leave us a comment and we'll see what we can do.

As of yet there is no confirmed release date for this patch, but we're aiming to be completed sometime in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned to our Facebook page and website for more updates!

Rocket Climb's first patch: 1.0.1

If you're an Android user you've probably noticed our first update for Rocket Climb! It vastly improves the way the back button is handled and now allows for full navigation of the menus in the game. iOS users don't fear, we've submitted 1.0.1 for you which addresses a problem where the tutorial would fail to dismiss and should be available later this week.

In other news, we've released Rocket Climb onto the Amazon App Store. If you're on a device without Google Play or in a country without access to Google Play.
